Cosmetic laser surgery is widely used in the field of dermatology, dentistry, cosmetic surgery and eye surgery. Cosmetic laser surgeries are preferred, as they enhance the person's appearance, the way he feels and also the ways he sees the world.

Cosmetic laser surgeries can help in removing wrinkles from the skin of old people. These wrinkles can be removed using a surgical process called laserbrasion, or facial resurfacing. This surgery gives you a wrinkle-free skin. Cosmetic laser surgery is also used correct the drooping of the underlying fat of the upper eyelids. This is process is called blepharoplasty, in which surgeons use laser technology to remove a part of the skin that sags from the eyelid. People experiencing partial vision or problems in applying eye shadow often go for cosmetic laser surgery for eyelids. Transconjunctival lower-lid blepharoplasty is a process that helps get rid of the extra fat from the lower eyelid.

Cosmetic laser surgery also helps in resurfacing scars from chickenpox or acne. The skin forms a fresh layer of collagen after the resurfacing has been done. The skin tightens after the surgery, giving a more fresh and radiant look. Nowadays, cosmetic laser surgery is being widely used for enlarged noses, which are a cause of embarrassment for many people. Many other types of cosmetic leaser surgeries are done to cure other kinds of skin conditions like seborrheic keratoses, warts, scars and keloids.

Cosmetic laser surgeries are undoubtedly effective in enhancing your appearance and giving you a new lease on life, but be aware of the aftereffects and side affects that such surgeries can cause. It is wise to consult a qualified surgeon before undergoing cosmetic laser surgery to avoid any harmful side effects or aftereffects. .

Breast enlargement is an operation to increase the size of the breasts. This is usually achieved by placing an artificial implant under the skin or muscle of the chest. Breast enlargement surgery is a procedure that has become increasingly common amongst many women, and people have this surgery for a number of reasons. Many opt for breast enlargement surgery simply as a matter of personal taste. They may feel uncomfortable because they feel that their bust is too small, and in a society where a big bust line seems to be the in thing they are prepared to go the extra mile to compete. Some women opt for breast enlargement surgery because they want to go into a particular profession, such as modeling, exotic dancing, etc. and they feel that a larger bust will help. Others have breast enlargement surgery for less superficial reasons, perhaps due to differently sized breasts or to correct the breast volume after pregnancy.Reasons for breast enlargementAesthetic or cosmetic reasons for breast enlargement include:Feeling that the breasts are simply too small or out of proportion Loss of breast volume after pregnancy Difference in size between the two breasts Breast size that has reduced after losing weight Breast enlargement is usually done under general anesthetic and may be performed as a day case, without the need for an overnight stay in hospital. It is important to remember that breast enlargement does involve surgery, and any surgery involves an element of risk. Although this procedure is performed every day and usually without problems, there are no guarantees with any type of surgery. There are risks regarding the results of the surgery for instance, the result may not be all you expected, even after paying out a large sum of money. In addition, there are more serious risks, such as infections, hardening, swelling, and scarring..

Plastic surgery is a branch of surgery that involves the repair or replacement of malformed, injured or lost members or tissues of the body. The plastic surgery has two more major branches: the reconstructive and the cosmetic surgery. These types of plastic surgery differ from one to another in one main way: the reconstructive surgery is made to help reconstruct an injured tissue or a birth defect while the cosmetic plastic surgery deals only with form or appearance.

I will now present a short history lesson about plastic surgery. Although plastic surgery goes far as Ancient Egypt, the first real plastic surgery doctors were two Sicilians: Gustav and Antonio Branka. They were father and son and they have managed to put the first brick on the plastic surgery wall by making basic guidelines which plastic surgeons should follow when doing a reconstructive nose surgery. The first man to actually create a center for Plastic surgery was another Italian: Taliakosi. But the main develop in plastic surgery was during the World War I and II because of the huge number of soldiers with body and facial disfigurations. Reconstructive plastic surgery has been in some cases able to correct these injuries and regain functional abilities of those parts of the body. From then to now it has been in a constant evolution catalyzed by scientific achievements. It is important to know that in the 80' plastic surgery had for many people a single meaning: breast enhancements.

This is why more and more women were asking for that kind of plastic surgery procedure. But really, plastic surgery is much more than that.

Nowadays, the plastic surgery is one of the most profitable businesses out there. Cosmetic surgery has now become more fashionable and it plays a great role in the mainstream. It is known that almost every Hollywood celebrity has used in some way plastic surgery.

In our modern society that puts a high price on an individual look, plastic surgery helps people getting a nice outward appearance along with self-confidence.

Cosmetic surgery is used by people who want to look younger, better, thinner and with this to improve their quality of live and self-confidence. And this is a normal thing in our society that puts a big prise on outward appearance. Everybody wants to look good and the cosmetic surgery can sometimes give that. This is why cosmetic surgery is a huge business now and with the advances of science and technology it has become more affordable and accessible for anyone. In the year 2004 alone, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported that $8.5 billion was spent on cosmetic surgery.

The breast enhancements is not being the only option of cosmetic surgery anymore. Now, there are cosmetic surgery operations that can be done on almost any part of the body to improve your appearance. It seems that every popular celebrity has been using cosmetic surgery in their pursuit of the perfect look. But the cosmetic surgery isn't just about getting beautiful. People that have birth disfiguration could use it in order to solve their psychological problems brought by the society rejection.

Some types of cosmetic surgery operations:

Pierced ear repair or tattoo removal is helping people to remove unwanted pierces or tattoos

Acne scar removal is a simple cosmetic surgery operation and can change you live in few weeks

Botox is used in cosmetic surgery to temporarily paralyses muscles and fix parts of the body in certain positions. It'S actually cheaper than a surgical lift. But the effect is only temporary so regular visits are needed to keep the appearance.

Breast enhancement is the most popular cosmetic surgery operation. Many breast cancer victims use breast-rebuilding treatment to regain their natural body shape.

Other popular cosmetic surgery procedures are face lifts that help masking the natural signs of aging; rhinoplasty that is used to reshape the nose and the liposuction that is used in cosmetic surgery to get rid of excess fat tissue on unwanted areas of the body.

More and more people use cosmetic surgery to improve their look and their life so the business is evolving more and more along with science. I'm really curious for the techniques that they will use in the future cosmetic surgery.

When either cosmetic or plastic surgery are mentioned to us, our thoughts run immediately to breast implants or liposuction, but there are many other procedures available that although they might not receive the same attention of their more obvious counterparts can have a huge impact upon both the appearance and the self confidence of a patient. One of these unsung heroes is cosmetic chin surgery, which can exert a profound effect that belies the ease with which it can be performed. Cosmetic chin surgery is a relatively simple procedure that is usually performed in about an hour or so. Scarring is minimal, and though the patient might be limited to a liquid diet for the two or three days following surgery, recovery time is typically fast, and patients are back to their usual routines within a couple of days. Side effects, including the risk of infection or numbness in the area, are rare, making the benefits of cosmetic chin surgery far outweigh the risks. And the benefits are striking. Those of us with ample chins have probably never noticed how they suitably frame our facial features, creating a sense of balance in our face. A smaller or receding chin can set this balance awry, placing a disproportionate emphasis on other features, such as the nose, particularly if this is already large - in fact, chin and nose surgeries are commonly performed in a complimentary fashion, in order to balance the patient's features, and release their true beauty. Cosmetic chin surgery involves the simple insertion of an implant through an incision made either underneath the chin or in the mouth. The implant will be custom designed for each patient, insuring that the client achieves precisely the look that they and their surgeon have agreed will be most flattering to their features. The surgery can be performed under either local or general anaesthetic, and is usually done on an out patient basis - meaning that before the day is out, you will be at home again, waiting until your bandaging can be removed so that you can see the new you, in all your glory..

Statistics do seem to indicate there is an upward trend is wrongful cosmetic surgery treatments; so, would you have a claim for clinical negligence following a bad cosmetic surgery experience?

It is hard to imagine that there can be a worse feeling ? you go into have cosmetic surgery treatment to improve your features and hopefully boost your self-esteem and when you finish, you find that something has gone horribly wrong and you have been disfigured for life!

Establishing A Claim

In order for a clinical negligence solicitor to establish that you have a medical negligence claim, the solicitor needs to show that a duty of care situation existed between you and the surgeon and that the surgeon was negligent in this.

Fortunately or unfortunately, however you wish to look at this, prior to 1 April 2002 there was no method of ensuring that the private cosmetic surgeon who treated you had any specialist cosmetic surgery training. Indeed, even if they are still practicing today, if they started practising cosmetic surgery prior 1 April 2002, there would still be no requirement that they had received specialist cosmetic training.

For this reason, having established that a duty of care relationship existed, it should be much easier for your solicitor to show that the surgeon acted negligently than would otherwise be the case in a more mainstream medical negligence claim.

Alternative means of establishing a claim for clinical negligence compensation include:

Informed Consent

Nearly all cases involving cosmetic surgery negligence claims centre on the issue of whether or not you had the appropriate informed consent prior to the procedure. Basically, 'informed consent' means that the surgeon or doctor treating you is required to inform you of:

? the potential benefits of the cosmetic treatment you are about to have, something most cosmetic surgeons are very happy to talk about;

? the potential risks that are associated with the cosmetic surgery procedure you are going to undertake, something most cosmetic surgeons talk about reluctantly; and

? what the alternatives are to the treatment you are about to receive, something cosmetic surgeons sometimes fail to inform their patients!

Without your informed consent to the cosmetic surgery, it is possible for your clinical negligence solicitor to establish that a clinical negligence claim exists and to ask for clinical negligence compensation.

Injury Compensation

Besides lack of informed consent, a clinical negligent solicitor can also establish a case for clinical negligence in the event that you suffer any disfigurement or scaring following the procedure, or if the treatment results in you have some other form of disfigurement ? such as damaged nerve-ends, damaged internal organs, abrasion, etc.

Dental Surgery

In addition to the more common claim of negligent treatment in cosmetic surgery, if you have recently received any cosmetic dental treatment that did not produce the results you were lead to believe would be the case by the advertising you read, or if the cosmetic dental surgery procedure was painful, or left you in any way disfigured, you may well have the right to claim for dental negligence compensation ? so make sure you check this out with your solicitor.

What Should You Do If You Think You Have A Claim?

If you believe you have a clinical negligence claim following cosmetic surgery, you should see a specialist in clinical negligence as soon as you can.

Keep in mind that only a very small fraction of medical negligence claims involving cosmetic surgery procedures are allowed to apply for public funding (such as Legal Aid) to help pay the costs of a claim.

As such, if you cannot afford a specialist clinical negligence solicitor, then you should try and see a compensation solicitor on a no win no fee claim basis as court cases involving clinical negligence centred around cosmetic surgery practices can be time consuming and costly..
